As a wild resource with distinctive regional characteristics in China, white-flesh Ganoderma lucidum was collected and named for the first time by scientific researchers of Guangdong Institute of Microbiology.
It has become a typical case of technological poverty alleviation and an important resource for driving the economic development of one party
.
It is widely grown in southwestern China .
The researchers extracted high-quality DNA from a monokaryotic strain (DH-8) and assembled the first white-meat Ganoderma lucidum genome based on the Illumina and Nanopore platforms
.
The assembled genome size is 50.
In addition, the differences in the functional genes of secondary metabolites (terpenoids) between white meat Ganoderma lucidum and Ganoderma lucidum were analyzed
.
Studies have found that white meat Ganoderma lucidum has more genes related to terpenoid synthesis than Ganoderma lucidum, which may be one of the reasons why they exhibit different biological activities
According to Wu Qingping’s team member and senior engineer Hu Huiping, the white meat Ganoderma lucidum genome is currently the best assembled species of Ganoderma lucidum.
This result has a guiding role in enriching the basis of biological and genetic research of white meat Ganoderma lucidum, and is the plateau adaptability of specific species in the future.
Lay the foundation for in-depth research
