Wenchang City, Hainan opens a new model of green seawater aquaculture

The comprehensive improvement of the environment of Fengjiawan Aquaculture Zone is an important measure for Wenchang City, Hainan Province to thoroughly implement the rectification requirements of the Central Environmental Protection Inspector and the National Marine Inspector on the feedback problems of Fengjiawan aquaculture.

Fengjiawan Aquaculture Area Environmental Comprehensive Improvement (Phase I) project is located in Fengjiawan Yandui Village, Huiwen Town, Wenchang City.

According to Cheng Guofeng, an associate researcher of the design team of the Fishery Machinery and Instrument Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, the project aims at the characteristics of Fengjiawan aquaculture area, makes full use of the existing natural ditch structure, and incorporates sedimentation filtration, ecological purification, microbial purification and supporting pipe network and other advanced facilities to achieve ecologically efficient purification

Liu Xingguo, the head of the project design team, said that the project designers have rich experience in tail water treatment.

Ouyang Jilong, project director of Wenchang Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau, said that the Wenchang Municipal Government is concerned about the implementation of the project and plans to replace the traditional extensive aquaculture by developing an ecological industrial recirculating aquaculture model, so as to achieve aquaculture drainage that meets the discharge standards and will not negatively affect the surrounding environment.
