Walt Disney World Resort has partnered with Origis Energy USA and Reedy Creek to develop a 50MW solar project

It is understood that the project will power two of the theme parks in Central Florida
.
The project covers an area of 109 hectares and the photovoltaic system will come online by the end of 2018, which will include 500,000 solar panels
.
The Walt Disney Company's goal for 2020 is to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions by 50%
compared to 2012.
The facility, which will be located near Disney's Animal Kingdom, will begin construction
in the coming months.
Just last week, Origis Energy delivered its first solar panels
.
The company has launched a Mickey Mouse-shaped 5MW solar plant near Epcot, which is being developed
in conjunction with the Reedy Creek Conversion District and Duke Energy.
The project team is exploring how new solar facilities can be used to benefit the surrounding environment
