With the implementation of social isolation and three-site production in Vietnam, after more than a month of operation, Vietnam’s exports of aquatic products in August dropped by 36% from the same period last year, and the export of aquatic products only reached about 520 million U.
    S.
dollars, most of the key products Exports have all declined .

According to VASEP's survey results, in the past month, only about 30-40% of seafood companies in southern Vietnam can guarantee the conditions of the "three sites", and only 40-50% of workers can be mobilized to participate in production
    .
Therefore, the average production capacity has been reduced to only 40-50%
    .
The material supply chain is broken and the transportation is difficult.
The company has lost customers due to delays in implementation time, lack of production materials, inability to guarantee delivery dates, delays in import and export procedures, increased input costs and transportation costs, and a series of difficulties are piled up due to the new crown epidemic.
And it has become a burden on the Vietnamese fishery business community
    .

In August 2021, the export volume of aquatic products such as prawns, pangasius, tuna, squid, octopus, crabs, etc.
will fall by 35-40% compared with the same period in 2020
    .
Thanks to the export volume in the first seven months, in the first eight months of this year, Vietnam's aquatic product exports still increased by about 6% to US$5.

Among them, shrimp exports were nearly 2.

    .
At the same time, exports of squid, octopus, and other fish (except tuna and pangasius) increased slightly by 2% and 4%, respectively
    .

In general, the southern provinces of Vietnam, especially Ho Chi Minh City, the new crown epidemic situation is still very tense
    .
In Ho Chi Minh City and some provinces in the southeastern region (Dong Nai, Binh Duong), the implementation of worker vaccination in industrial parks and export processing zones is still limited and uneven
    .
Under such circumstances, the situation of aquatic product production and export in September remained bleak
    .

At present, in the provinces of Shuozhuang, Jinmao, Bac Lieu, and Jianjiang, the epidemic situation is well controlled, and the production situation will resume sooner
    .
These are the key provinces for shrimp production and export, so shrimp products are expected to alleviate the sharp decline in aquatic product exports in the second half of the year
    .

The production and processing of pangasius is mainly concentrated in the northern provinces.
As the production in three places is still heavy, more than half of the factories have to be closed, and the situation of pangasius export will hardly get better that month
    .

Similarly, Ho Chi Minh City and the southeastern provinces also have many factories and enterprises that process and export squid, octopus, tuna and other seafood
    .
With the current outbreak of the epidemic, production and exports in these areas will continue to stagnate in September
    .

Therefore, it is expected that the export of aquatic products in September will continue to decline by at least 20%, to about US$660 million
    .
After September, most aquatic product processing workers have been vaccinated, and companies do not have to implement the three-site production requirements.
Exports in the last three months of this year will be slightly restored, and exports of approximately US$8.
