While Vietnam plans to increase its renewable energy capacity, the country is expected to expand coal-fired power generation, as this cheap power generation resource remains the most viable option

According to the association, Vietnam's per capita coal-fired power generation is currently 793 kWh, well below the world average of 1,290 kWh
