    (People’s Daily) According to the Vietnam News Agency, the “India-Mekong Trade Matching Plan Series II: Cross-border Agricultural Products Trade” was held online on October 11, attracting trade between India and Vietnam, Thailand, and Cambodia.

    The event is part of a series of activities to enhance the international integration capabilities of SMEs: India-Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Interconnection Project to strengthen global value chains and trade between India and Mekong countries initiated by the Asian Development Bank Activity

    The Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Lei Huangcai emphasized that agricultural products and food are the main export industries of Vietnam
    .
    In the first nine months of 2021, exports of this category of commodities earned US$20.
    1 billion in foreign exchange, an increase of 10.
    8% over the same period in 2020.
    This increase is due to the rise in the export volume and price of agricultural products
    .
    The export market of Vietnamese agricultural products has expanded to more than 180 countries and regions, especially from the mid-end market to the high-end market
    .
     
    Li Huangcai said that participation in the new generation of free trade agreements and deeper and wider integration into the international economy have brought many huge opportunities for Vietnam.
    Vietnam can cooperate with India, Cambodia and Thailand to expand the export market of agricultural products and food
    .
     
    Vivik Sharma, general manager of Aarna Agro & Angel Fine Foods, said that Vietnam is the largest agricultural machinery market
    .
    Vietnam also imported many products from India, such as cotton, spice products, especially rice
    .

     
      At the meeting, delegates and companies also paid attention to the tariff system and import and export procedures of the Mekong sub-regional countries and India
    .
