Recently, with its successful track record in Latin America, Vestas has consolidated its position
as Argentina's leading wind turbine manufacturer by establishing a hub and engine room assembly facility in the province of Buenos Aires.
The new facility, which will provide hundreds of jobs when completed, is currently under construction and will meet Argentina's huge growth potential in the wind energy sector, with 10 GW of new installed capacity
expected by 2025.
"We are a leader in projects with more than 900 MW of capacity under construction or under construction, and we need to take a big step forward to better support the government's ambitions
for renewable energy," said the sales director of Southern Cone Latin America.
By building this assembly facility, we will better serve the needs of our customers and generate hundreds of local jobs
.
”
Vestas' global manufacturing footprint spans markets around the world, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products
to customers by manufacturing core components.
With the new production facility in Argentina, Vestas is committed to optimizing production while creating around 300 direct and indirect jobs
.
"The fact that Vestas, as a global leader in renewable energy, intends to expand its presence in Argentina is clear proof that we are on the right path, providing investors with the confidence and trust they need to invest to successfully achieve our green transition
," stressed the Argentine Minister of Energy.
”
According to the country's Minister of Production, "Vestas' positioning in Argentina is good news, not only because of the number of jobs that its localization program will create, but also because of the transfer of technology to small and medium-sized enterprises
in the country.
" ”
As early as 1991, Vestas installed the first commercial wind turbine in Nathan, Argentina, setting a precedent
for the Argentine wind energy market.
Since then, Vestas has closely followed developments in the wind energy market, which is now an important market
in Latin America.
The government launched the RenovAr program in 2015, with the goal of achieving a 20% renewable energy target
by 2020.
