A vaccine targeting a certain protein is effective in treating a variety of cancers in several animals, a team of researchers affiliated with institutions in the Netherlands and one in Switzerland repo.
In 2006, the same research team discovered that a protein called vimentin is produced in cancer tumors and is only present in the blood that nourishes the tum.
The researchers treated 35 dogs with their vacci.
The researchers concluded that their tests provided further evidence that vimentin blocks the immune system and promotes the development of new blood vessels in tumo.
