Recently, the research group of Professor Chen Yuxing and Professor Zhou Congzhao from the Department of Life Science and Medicine, University of Science and Technology of China, used single-particle cryo-electron microscopy to analyze the three-dimensional complexes of a series of human bile acid efflux protein ABCB11 and its physiological substrate, sodium taurocholate.
Bile salts are the most important facultative molecules in human bile and aid in the digestion of lipids and fat-soluble vitamins
In 2020 , the research group used single-particle cryo-electron microscopy to resolve the ligand-free structure of human ABCB11 .
Professor Chen Yuxing, Professor Zhou Congzhao and special associate researcher Hou Wentao from the University of Science and Technology of China are the co-corresponding authors of the paper
