Two important solar power plants were reportedly inaugurated
at two different sites in Jammu on Wednesday.
A 140-kilowatt rooftop solar power installation was inaugurated at the Sampark project of the border road organization in Kunjwani Jammu
.
According to a press statement released by BRO, "This 140 kW rooftop solar power adds a new touch to BRO's world, contributing to
the construction of important roads, bridges and other infrastructure in the region.

During the setting up of the commission, the chief engineer of the BRO said, "This is the first step
towards switching to renewable energy resources.
We should all encourage people to use solar equipment
in their houses.
”
The BRO Chief Engineer added that the project includes 140 kW grid-connected solar power at a cost of Rs 74,000, of which 60 per cent of the project cost is subsidized through MNRE and the balance is borne by the head office CE(P) Sampark
.
The project is executed by M/s Jeanie Power Solution Private Limited, which is the installer of JAKEDA (J&K Energy Development Agency), which is the state node agency
that installs any solar project through MNRE.
