Tunisia, the northernmost country in Africa, intends to invest in 1 GW of solar and wind projects with a total value of $1 billion, and plans to issue tender documents
by the end of this month.

According to Reuters, the Tunisian prime minister made the announcement
at the energy conference on Thursday.

He said tenders for solar and wind projects would be launched
on April 27.

The renewable electricity generated by these projects will provide electricity
to the Kairouan, Tozeur, Tatooine, Sidi Buzid, Kebel and Tatooine regions.
