TRB Lightweight Structures (Huntington, UK) announced the development of a composite underbody protection panel that significantly improves impact absorption while reducing weight

The panels are made of toughened TRB resin using a cost-effective high-volume manufacturing process developed in parallel with the new solution, which is now operating in North America and the UK, the company said
.

The new protective panels feature a sandwich structure of advanced materials, intelligently layered to provide different impact absorption strengths based on location
.

According to TRB, tests have shown that compared to steel solutions, the impact absorption rate is often doubled, while the weight is halved

Plates can be painted, but unlike steel, no paint is required for corrosion protection

The lightweight construction of these boards simplifies installation and replacement
