Total Energy plans to restart a US$20 billion liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in northern Mozambique, the chief executive of French energy giant Total Energy said on February 1, according to Gas Processing News.

Bowen made the remarks to journalists who interviewed him during his visit to Mozambique on 1 February

Total Energy had intended to produce the first LNG cargo from the LNG project in 2024

Po Young told reporters, "Frankly, we have made a lot of progress in a very short period of time.

However, Poyoung said more needs to be done to ensure these achievements are sustainable, adding that this also includes returning to normalcy the largely abandoned towns without any public services

Poyan said he hoped to visit the rebuilt towns next time, including the town of Palma and Mocimboa da Praia, just south of the town
