The loan will be used to help strengthen the financial position
of the state-owned Kenya Power Generation Company.
The Kenya Power Generation Corporation manages 70% of Kenya's 1631 MW of power generation capacity and is one of
the largest power generation companies in East Africa.
The World Bank loan will support the Kenya Power Generation Corporation to raise a total of up to $300 million to refinance
existing loans.
