Philippine broadband service provider Converge ICT Solutions recently announced that construction of an undersea cable system connecting the Visayas and Mindanao will be completed in 2021 as part of
a plan to expand its fixed broadband services nationwide.
The deployment of the submarine cable system is part of
the company's $1.
8 billion plan to deploy a nationwide fiber optic network over the next five years.
"The company is currently evaluating the final offers of the three foreign companies to select the best solution, and will award the contract to the winning bidder
by the end of this year," the executive said.
