On August 28th the US Department of Commerce announced a positive anti-subsidy decision on Glycine imports from China and India, as well as a negative anti-subsidy decision on products imported from Thailand. Preliminary ruling: (1) China's mandatory response companies JC Chemicals Limited and Xiamen Zhixin Chemical Co., Ltd. (Simagchem Corp.) The subsidy rate for other Chinese producers and exporters was 144.01 per cent. (2) The subsidy rate for Indian producers and exporters is 3.03% to 26.07%

The U.S. Department of Commerce is expected to make a final anti-subsidy decision on Chinese products on November 14, 2018 and india and Thailand on January 8, 2019. The case concerns products under United States Coordinated Tariff Nos. 2922.49.4300 and 2922.49.8000.
On April 20, 2018, in response to an application filed by GEOSpecialty Chemicals, Inc. and Chattem Chemicals, Inc. on March 28, 2018, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced an anti-subsidy investigation into glycine imports from India, Thailand and China, as well as an anti-dumping investigation into products imported from India, Thailand and Japan. On May 11, 2018, the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) voted to make a preliminary decision on antidumping and countervailing industry damage to glycine imported from China, India, Japan and Thailand. According to U.S. statistics, U.S. imports of products from China, India and Thailand in 2017 were about $1.1 million (including re-exports from Cambodia), $6.7 million and $4.4 million, respectively.
