The first BOROUGE polyethylene plant has a production capacity of 450,000 tons/year and was put into operation in 2001.

Adnoc and Borealis awarded TechnipFMC, Maire Tecnimont and WorleyParsons in 2019 the front-end engineering design (FEED) work for the fourth polyethylene unit at the Borouge unit

Borealis owns 40% of Borouge, while Adnoc owns 60%
