Recently, the team of Professor Xue Jiquan from the College of Agriculture of Northwest A&F University published a research paper entitled "Biosynthesis, structure and functionality of starch granules in maize inbred lines with different kernel dehydration rate" in Food Chemistry
As one of the three major food crops in the world, corn is an important source of feed, food, energy and industrial raw materials, and has important strategic significance for China's food security and feed safety
In this study, 8 maize inbred lines selected from Shaan A group and Shaan B group were used as materials to measure the moisture content and transcriptome sequencing of grains at different developmental stages after pollination, combined with the structure and properties of grain starch, to determine the moisture content of grains.
The research was funded by the National Key Research and Development Program (2018YFD0100200) and Shaanxi Province Key Research and Development Program (2017ZDCXL-NY-02-04)
