Special Note

The customs supervision of solid waste is based on the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Waste (referred to as the Solid Waste Law), which is currently being revis.

The current Solid Waste Law states:

Article 78 Whoever, in violation of the provisions of this Law, dumps, stacks or disposes of solid wastes outside the territory of the People's Republic of China, imports prohibited solid wastes or imports restricted solid wastes as raw materials without permissi.

Article 92 Whoever, in violation of the provisions of this Law, imports solid waste from outside the People's Republic of China into China shall be ordered by the Customs to return the solid waste and impose a fine of not less than 500,000 yuan but not more than 5,000,000 yu.
