    The novel coronavirus pneumonia (COVID-19) has caused 540 million infections and more than 6 million deaths globally, resulting in a severe disease burden


    In June 2022, the research group of Academician Lu Lin of Peking University published a paper entitled "A systematic review and meta-analysis of long term physical and mental sequelae of COVID-19 pandemic" in the international authoritative journal "Molecular Psychiatry".


    Sequelae and characteristics of different organs and systems in recovered patients from COVID-19

    A total of 7 long-term sequelae of the respiratory system, mental system, nervous system, and cardiovascular system were included in this study

    Among the sequelae of long-term psychiatric symptoms of COVID-19 recovered patients (Figure 2), the reported rate of depressive symptoms was 18.

    Prediction, risk factors and interventions for long-term sequelae of COVID-19 survivors

    ? ? The study summarizes the predictors and risk factors that may be related to long-term sequelae (Figure 3), including advanced age, male gender, combined with other underlying diseases, ICU admission in the acute phase of the new crown, abnormal inflammatory indicators and other biomarkers, and targeted prevention and intervention.

    In conclusion, this study explored the long-term physical and psychological sequelae and related risk factors of COVID-19, and found that about half of the patients had more than one systemic sequelae symptoms within 12 months of recovery from the acute phase of COVID-19
