Recently, German transmission system operator 50Hertz Transmission GmbH said that it has installed offshore cables from Kriegers Flak Combined Grid Solutions (CGS), which will use offshore wind farm connections to interconnect
the Danish and German power grids.

The required submarine cables have been deployed for the Danish-German interconnect

Through two submarine cables, the 400 MW interconnection will connect the 288 MW Baltic 2 wind farm in Germany and the 600 MW Kriegers Flak project
in Denmark.

The installation of the two submarine cables began on the German platform Baltic 2, and now a second 25 km cable has been laid on the Danish platform
of the Kriegers Flak wind farm.

The project is built
by a collaboration between 50Hertz and the Danish National Grid.
The interconnection is expected to be operational
in the first quarter of 2019.
