Moscow, January 13 (Russian Satellite News Agency) -- The Russian Federal Service for Animal and Plant Health Surveillance announced that in early January, the Republic of Buryatia shipped the first batch of pine nuts this year to China, with a total weight of 146 tons
.

The average annual export volume of pine nuts in the Republic of Russian Buryatia is about 15,000 tons
.
In 2002, the republic exported more than 9,500 tons
to China.

Russia is the world's largest exporter of
pine nuts.
About 80% of the harvested pine nuts are exported abroad, and the remaining 20% can fully meet the needs
of the Russian domestic market.
