Plateau pika ( Ochotona curzoniae ) is endemic to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and plays an important role in maintaining the biodiversity and stability of the alpine meadow ecosystem
The Qinghai Provincial Key Laboratory of Animal Ecogenomics captured plateau pika at different altitudes, measured the resting metabolic rate of plateau pika, and further determined the expression levels of metabolic heat production-related genes in adipose tissue, liver and skeletal muscle.
The research results were published in Frontiers in Genetics (Impact Factor: 4.
This research was funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (31770459) and the Natural Science Foundation of Qinghai Province (2021-ZJ-929)
