Chinese medicine diet therapy has always been quite controversial.
Recently, Professor Chen Gu’s team from the School of Food Science and Engineering of South China University of Technology published an article titled "Probiotic Potential and Cholesterol-Lowering Capabilities of Bacterial Strains Isolated from Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae'Chachiensis'" in Microorganisms, which has a long history of screening.
Guangchen peel, Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae'Chachiensis', is derived from the dry and mature peel of Chachikan in Xinhui, Guangdong Province
In this study, 64 strains of bacteria were isolated from the dried tangerine peel, 53 of which belonged to the Bacillus family, 49 of which belonged to the genus Bacillus, and the rest belonged to other species
This study reported for the first time the screening and identification of probiotics from Guangchen peel.
