The launching ceremony of Cambodian longan export to China was held in Phnom Penh

 

Ambassador Wang Wentian congratulated His Excellency Dundina on his appointment as Minister
of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Cambodia.
He said that longan is the third agricultural product allowed to be exported to China in Cambodia after pangasius and corn this year, and it is also the third fruit
allowed to be exported to China.

 

Ambassador Wang pointed out that we are holding a launching ceremony here to witness the successful export of Cambodian longan to China, which is another substantial achievement of China-Cambodia agricultural cooperation under the epidemic, which will bring tangible benefits to the two peoples and greatly promote the further development
of China-Cambodia friendly relations.

 

He said that over the past two years, the epidemic has adversely affected Cambodia's economic development, but under the concern of the leaders of China and Cambodia, the agricultural cooperation between the two countries has shown vitality and fruitful
results.
From 2019 to the end of June 2022, Cambodia exported a total of 2.

Cambodia has a rich variety of agricultural products, superior quality, China has a huge market demand and advanced agricultural production technology, China has become the largest export market for Cambodian rice for several consecutive years; Since the successful export of Cambodian bananas to China in May 2019, Cambodia's banana industry has achieved leapfrog development, with exports increasing from 10,000 tons in 2018 to 423,000 tons
in 2021.
Subsequently, Cambodian mangoes, pangasi, corn and longan were successively approved for export to the Chinese market

Ambassador Wang Wentian pointed out that in April this year, the Ministry of Agriculture of China and Cambodia held the second meeting of the China-Cambodia Agricultural Steering Committee, which clarified the key directions of agricultural cooperation between the two sides in the coming period.
The implementation of China's agricultural development planning project has also begun, and the first batch of experts completed the basic research of the project on the 25th of this month; At the same time, the cooperation between the two sides in the field of animal husbandry has also been fruitful, and the two sides have reached an agreement on the MOU for cooperation in veterinary drugs, veterinary biological products and feed additives, and will sign
it at an opportune time.
At present, the two sides are stepping up the export of
Cambodian pepper, wild aquatic products, edible aquatic animals, bird's nest and coconut to China.
As more Cambodian agricultural products are allowed to be exported to China, more employment opportunities will be provided for Cambodian farmers, and farmers' incomes and living standards will be improved, benefiting the people of the two countries

to 8 Cambodian Longan packaging factory enterprises exported to China.
