On September 15, 2016, Florida Electric Lighting (FPL), Florida's largest solar power generator, announced that the installation of 1 million solar photovoltaic panels has been completed by half, which was originally planned to be completed
by the end of the year.
The PV panels will include three solar energy centers, each of which will provide 74.
5MW of generating capacity, making it the largest solar power plant
in the eastern United States.
Eric Silagy, President and CEO of FPL, said: "Our customers' solar power generation has tripled this year, and we plan to add more cost-effective solar
energy in the future.
