Recently, with the completion of the third insulation curing of the superconducting joint between the No.
12 longitudinal field magnet coil terminal box and the transition feeder (TF12 CTB-CFT), the assembly and connection of the first superconducting feeder joint at the ITER site, which is fully responsible for the TAC1 team of the Institute of Plasma Physics, Hefei Institute of Physical Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has been completed, which is another important node
for the assembly and integration of the ITER host.

Superconducting joint is the core component and key process link of superconducting feeder and magnet, and its resistance, voltage drop and other properties will directly affect the safe operation
    of the magnet system.
The on-site installation of joints involves precision measurement, reverse engineering, indium wire pressing, insulation curing and other technical fields, and is recognized as the most complex "special installation process"
    in ITER final assembly.

As an important member of the Chinese consortium, the TAC1 project team of the Plasma Institute is the only one in the world with practical installation experience of ITER main bus (MB) indium wire crimp joints, and is fully responsible for the personnel training, skill certification, document preparation, joint mechanical assembly, insulation preparation, quality control and other important on-site work
of ITER magnet feeder superconducting joints 。 With the full cooperation of the consortium team, the engineers and technicians selected by the TAC1 project team of Plasma completed the task of the first superconducting joint on the ITER site with high quality, laying a solid technical foundation
for the subsequent construction of more than 200 feeder joints.
