According to the Fiji Times, the Savusavu submarine cable system branch will enter commercial operation
on June 21.
The cable branch is part of the Tui-Samoa submarine cable system to the island of Léwu, Vanua, Fiji, and is part of
the Tui-Samoa submarine cable system contracted by Alcatel Submarine Networks.
Designed to connect Samoa's Polynesian Islands and Fiji, the Tui-Samoa cable system uses 100G technology with an initial design capacity of 8Tbps, with landing stations
in Apia, Samoa's capital, and Suva, Fiji's capital.
An extension line was also built to connect Savusavu with the French overseas possessions of the Wallis and Futuna Islands
