Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) plans to approve contracts worth Dh11.

1 billion) over the next three years for the construction of 85 new 132/11kV substations and six 400/132kV substations

In a statement, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority said it was part of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority's plan to support and improve the capacity and efficiency of
the transmission system's network.
Currently, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority has signed contracts for the construction of transmission projects worth 1.
05 billion dirhams (US$285 million), including a 400/132kV substation, two 132/11 kV substations and 75 km of 132kV grounding cables
.
In the new contract, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO, said: "We are committed to our vision of being a world-class public utility
for sustainable innovation.

It is reported that the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority needs to invest AED 810 billion over the next five years to meet Dubai's growing energy needs and sustainable development needs
.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer said, "In 2017, the construction of 21 400kV substations with 1,150 km of transmission lines
was completed.
Our goal is to support and enhance the capacity and efficiency of the transmission network by providing unique infrastructure and service facilities to meet Dubai's sustainable development needs, as well as to provide electricity and water services
according to the highest standards of availability, reliability and efficiency.

According to reports, there are currently 252 132/11kV substations
