Denmark's Politik newspaper reported on September 19 that Danish pork giant Crown Group wrote in a press release that the group is laying off 350 employees due to high energy prices leading to higher feed costs, and many farmers are reducing their raising or completely stopping raising pigs
.
It is reported that Crown has a total of 8,000 employees
.
The press release also reads that Crown will work to help unemployed employees re-employ or participate in job training
.
It is understood that the Danish Bureau of Statistics data in August showed that the number of pigs in Denmark was nearly 1 million less than last year, and this year's rise in energy prices alone brought an additional bill
of 20 billion DKK to Denmark's agricultural food industry.
