    12 October 2021, Rome - The United Nations food Director-General and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Qu Dongyu today at the " Biodiversity Fifteenth Conference of the Parties," and said, reversing the loss of biodiversity, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, Enhancing adaptive capacity, strengthening resilience and increasing production levels can play a key role in solving the problems of poverty and hunger

    The Director-General pointed out in the opening speech of the 15th Conference of the Parties (Conference) of the Convention on Biological Diversity ("Convention"): "In order to realize the vision of building a community of life on earth, we need the harmonious coexistence of man and nature
    .

    The theme of this conference is "Ecological Civilization: Building a Community of Life on Earth.
    " Director General Qu further pointed out at the meeting: "The holding of the Conference of the Parties is an important milestone on our way forward
    .
    "
     
    The conference will be held in Kunming, China in a combination of online and offline methods, and will formulate a framework for the global response to biodiversity issues in the next ten years
    .
     
    Director-General Qu was invited to attend the high-level panel discussion with other senior UN officials
    .
    In the keynote speech at the summit, Chinese President Xi Jinping put forward a grand plan to build national parks and protected areas, and announced that China will invest 1.
    5 billion yuan (230 million US dollars) to establish the Kunming Biodiversity Fund to help implement it in the next ten years A new framework for protecting nature, and calling on all countries to join hands to build a community of life on earth and build a clean and beautiful world together
