Comprehensive Thai media reported on November 11 that the Thai Ministry of Commerce stated that the increase in the price of bottled palm oil was due to the increase in palm prices .
Recently, the price of palm oil exceeded 10 baht per kilogram, the highest in 10 years
    .
The agency has asked palm oil refineries and retailers to control the price of bottled palm oil.
The latest price is between 50-53 baht per bottle
    .
It is emphasized that the price of live pigs has not yet changed, maintaining the price of 80 baht per kilogram, and the price of lean pork has not risen either
    .

The main reason for the increase in the price of bottled palm oil in Thailand was the import of raw materials from Indonesia and Malaysia.
The palm production in Indonesia and Malaysia was affected by the epidemic and lack of labor and harvesting workers.
The total output fell by more than 5%.
    Oil prices continue to rise
    .
Thailand can still export more crude palm oil, so the demand for palm has increased, leading to continued increases in palm prices
    .
From January to November 2021, the average is 6.
76 baht per kilogram, and this has risen to 10 baht per kilogram in the past week, the highest level in 10 years
    .
This is an increase of 41% compared to 4.
78 baht per kilogram in 2020
    .

Domestic palm production is at the end of the harvest season, so the output is low, which has led to the continuous rise of palm and palm oil prices, so the cost of processing bottled palm oil has also increased accordingly
    .
The Ministry of Commerce has negotiated with refineries and retailers in hopes of stabilizing prices, although crude palm oil has risen from an average of 28.
10 baht per kilogram in 2020 to 37.
    24 baht in January-November 2021, an increase of 33%
    .
The price of bottled palm oil at wholesale retailers is 50-53 baht per bottle, a 12% increase from the previous 46 baht per bottle
    .

At present, soybean production in the world market is in the new market season and is flowing into the market.
It is expected that the production will increase by at least 5% over the previous year, so that more soybean oil will enter the system and provide more choices for the general public to consume vegetable oil
    .

Regarding the Thai Pig Breeders Association’s announcement on November 4, 2021, that the sales price of live pigs was adjusted to 84 baht per kilogram, it was found from the investigation that the price of live pig transactions and delivery still did not exceed the price of 80 baht per kilogram in cooperation with the Department of Internal Trade.
It is noted that on November 8, 2021, the retail price of uncut lean meat is 135-140 baht per kilogram, and the price of cut lean meat is 145-150 baht per kilogram, which is the same as last year's price
    .
As for the lean meat cut in retail stores, the price is 119-122 baht per kilogram
    .

From the overall monitoring situation, the current inventory of pork is still sufficient, and the Ministry of Commerce continues to track the quantity and price of pork.
If there is a shortage of pork supply in a market, it can coordinate with the Pig Breeders Association to supply the slaughtered pork to that market.
The market, or supply to Blue Flag stores for sale, to reduce the burden on consumers
