Thailand's Food and Drug Administration issued amendments to regulations containing hemp or hemp foods

Food Partner Network News Thailand's Ministry of Public Health, October 25, 2022 News: Recently, the Thai Food and Drug Administration issued amendments to regulations containing hemp or hemp foods to make it clearer for entrepreneurs and protect the safety of consumers' food consumption, and the amendments to the regulations will come into effect
on October 22, 2022.

437 of the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand "Hemp seeds, hemp seed oil, hemp seed protein and foods containing hemp seeds, hemp seed oil or hemp seed protein components (No.
2)
".
The regulation removes the maximum limit requirement for CBD in hemp products because CBD is found in extremely low levels in hemp seeds and there are no safety concerns
.

438 of the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand "Food containing hemp or hemp ingredients (No.
2)"
.
This regulation is an amendment to
food standards for direct sale to consumers.
For example: because the amount of seasoning used in cooking is small, the seasoning contains no more than 0.
0032% THC and no more than 0.
0028%
CBD.
As for other foods, for foods that are not sold directly to consumers or sold only as raw materials, each package contains no more than 1.
6mg of THC and no more than 1.
41mg
of CBD.
In addition, the labeling requirements for foods containing hemp or hemp ingredients have been revised

.
This regulation adds details
about the requirements for CBD extracts to be mixed with other substances.
Revise water solubility requirements
for CBD extracts used in production processes or optimized for food processing.
Revision of dietary supplement form requirements and maximum allowable amount
of CBD extract for dietary supplements.
