    In addition, the meeting reviewed and resolved (1) to formulate a management plan for eastern fruits (durian, mangosteen, rambutan, longan) in 2022

    (2) Develop a management plan for northern fruits (lychees) in 2022
    .



    Alongkorn, advisor to the minister, said that Thailand's Ministry of Commerce has formulated 18 measures for fruit management in 2022

    And the 2022 economic fruit problem plan to be solved in advance when abnormal events occur, a total of 5 measures and 21 projects, including preventive measures to deal with abnormal events, measures to help distribute fruit products, control fruit quality and stimulate fruit consumption, help support Measures for Thailand's fruit exports, as well as processing measures and remedies to add value to the fruit

    Looking back at the fruit trade between China and Thailand in 2021, Thailand exported 160 billion baht of fruit to China, and China exported 40 billion baht of fruit to Thailand.
    Thailand has the advantage of 3-4 times the fruit trade surplus with China.

    Thailand's fruit market share is over 40% in China, followed by Chile with 14% and Vietnam with 6%

    This reflects the strength of Thailand's fruit exports

    Therefore, in response to the closure of customs clearance due to the sudden outbreak of the new crown epidemic in China, it is recommended that Thai fruit exporters increase the proportion of sea freight to 55%, and the China-Laos railway line transportation is also an additional option to reduce expensive road transportation
    .
    In addition, Thailand has expanded the proportion of domestic fruit consumption market from 30% to 40%
