The Dutch-German offshore grid operator TenneT has published tenders
for two HVDC systems.
Specifically, Tent will develop two 2 GW offshore HVDC grid connection systems to integrate the IJmuiden Ver wind farm into the
Dutch grid.
As a recognized safe, reliable, on-time delivery and cost-effective 2GW offshore HVDC system has not yet been developed, the scope of this innovative partner program is 2 x 2GW HVDC systems, offshore and onshore converters
.
Offshore platforms and HVDC cables are not included in the scope as they will be tendered
separately.
Tent said other offshore HVDC grid connections with a capacity of 2GW or more could also be part of
that range.
The deadline for submission of bids is 25 November
.
The 4GW IJmuiden Ver offshore wind farm is one of
three sites identified in the Netherlands' Offshore Wind Roadmap 2030.
The three sites have a combined capacity of 6.
1GW and are expected to help the Netherlands reach its offshore wind target
of 11.
5GW by 2030.
The IJmuiden Ver offshore wind farm is expected to be operational
between 2024 and 2030.
