    Research Background

Glioblastoma (GBM) has a poor prognosis with an overall 5-year survival rate of less than 4%

The authors first employed a genome-wide RNAi screen to identify genes that regulate the survival and differentiation of GSCs

    Research result

Trajectory analysis of single-cell sequencing revealed that ZNF117 could regulate the differentiation of GSCs to the oligodendrocyte lineage

Transcriptome analysis of ZNF117 knockout cells showed that ZNF117 regulates Notch signaling; pathway enrichment analysis suggested that Notch activity was down-regulated in ZNF117 knockout cells

This study revealed that ZNF117, as a regulator of GSCs differentiation, could be a target for GBM therapy
