Tanzania’s mainstream media "Citizen" reported on September 27 that with the arrival of the cashew nut export season, the problem of the lack of cashew nut processing capacity in Tanzania has become particularly prominent
.
At present, about 30,000 tons of cashew nuts are processed locally every year, which accounts for less than 10% of its annual cashew nut production
.
The Cashew Nut Council of Tanzania (CBT) stated that the committee is committed to improving the local processing capacity of cashew nuts and plans to increase the local processing ratio of cashew nuts to more than 60% in 2025/2026
.
In order to achieve this goal, CBT has issued policies to ensure that local processing companies purchase raw materials directly from cashew nut growers, avoiding competition with raw cashew nut exporters in the secondary market, and strengthening coordination and cooperation between local processing companies and encouraging foreign countries.
Investors invest in the cashew nut processing industry, enrich the types of cashew nut processing final products, and strive to give full play to Tan's advantages in cashew nut production
