Comprehensive "Citizen" and "Daily News" reported on January 5 that the Tanzania Energy and Water Authority (Ewura) announced that from now on, Tanzania will implement a new lower oil price ceiling
。 The head of Ehura said that compared with the previous month, the ceiling of oil prices in January was reduced by 4-35 shillings/liter for gasoline and 43-67 shillings/liter for diesel (2 shillings/liter for Mtwara province), and the retail prices of gasoline, diesel and kerosene in Dar es Salaam province were 2,501 shillings/liter, 2,325 shillings/liter and 2,335 shillings/liter respectively; The retail prices of petrol and diesel fuel are 2,521 shillings/litre and 2,369 shillings/litre respectively in Tanga Province and 2,534 shillings/litre and 2,425 shillings/litre
in Mtwara Province.
The head of Ehura said that the oil price cut in January was mainly due to the government's reduction in some fuel taxes, while the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) successfully purchased two ships of fuel using the Bulk Procurement System last month, increasing market supply
.
Some insiders pointed out that the decline in oil prices also benefited from the easing
of global oil prices in the past two months.
