Science and Technology Daily, Beijing, December 13 (Reporter Zhang Mengran) A super-large study (large-scale field experiment) of more than 60,000 members of a US chain of gyms shows that some digital projects can increase the number of people going to the gym by 9%— 27%
More and more policymakers are turning to behavioral science to find ways to improve citizen decision-making and outcomes
To address these issues, the University of Pennsylvania research team introduced the concept of very large studies, proposing the use of different interventions for the same population
The researchers found that 45% of the interventions significantly increased the number of times people went to the gym each week (9%-27% increase) over the four-week period
This extra-large study model allows researchers to compare dozens of different behavior-changing interventions, all of which are designed by an independent research team
