-based manufacturer of high-efficiency solar modules, has publicly announced that its longtime executive vice president and chief financial officer, Charles D.
Boynton, will leave the company on July 1 to take up other positions
.
SunPower hired Manavendra S.
Sial, former MEMC/SunEdison finance and operations manager, who has served as CFO
of several companies unrelated to the photovoltaic industry in the past.
According to SunPower, during SunEdison from March 2010 to December 2015, Sial held various global finance and operational leadership positions
.
Prior to SunEdison's bankruptcy, Sial became senior vice president and deputy chief financial officer
.
SunEdison filed for bankruptcy
in April 2016.
Sial is said to have spent more than half of his career at GE, from FP&A leadership in the energy services division to chief financial officer of power delivery in GE's transmission and distribution division
.
SunPower's CEO and Chairman of the Board said, "After eight years at SunPower, Chuck has worked tirelessly to provide strong leadership and help SunPower grow
significantly during a period of industry change.
