A paper published in Nature on July 7 explained how some of the antibodies induced by the new crown vaccine may cause the rare symptom of "vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia" (VITT)

VITT is a rare but serious adverse reaction that occurs after vaccination with the adenovirus vector new crown vaccine, which can lead to low platelet counts (thrombocytopenia) and blood clots in arteries or veins

Ishac Nazy of McMaster University in Canada and colleagues analyzed the serum of five VITT patients (average age 44) who had received a dose of AstraZeneca vaccine
