The pathological changes of cerebrovascular disease (CVD) including vascular disease (atherosclerosis, arteriosclerosis and cerebral amyloid angiopathy) and tissue damage (large and micro infarction) can lead to Alzheimer's disease and other forms Dementia
Blood vessel
Recently, a research article was published in Stroke, an authoritative journal in the field of cardiovascular disease.
Cardiovascular
The researchers used a mixed-effects model adjusted for demographics, neuropathology, time to death, and the interaction of these variables with time to determine the frequency of all 32 CVD case combinations and their correlation with overall and specific domain cognitive decline.
Of the 1184 deceased patients with CVD neuropathology (80% of the total sample), 37% had a single CVD (67-148 dead/group), and 63% had mixed CVD characteristics (11-54 dead/group) Group)
It can be seen that mixed CVD is more common than single CVD and is related to cognitive decline.
Hybrid CVD is more common than single CVD and is related to cognitive decline.
