Mexico's national electricity company CFE has revealed that the tender for large-scale transmission projects connecting Mexico, Morelos, Puebla, Oaxaca and Veracruz, as well as Mexico City, has attracted the interest
of many national and local enterprises.
So far, potential bidders for this large-scale transmission project include ABB Mexico, Abenco Mexico, Arendal, Hydropower Quebec Hydropower Authority, Construcciones Rocha, China Power Construction Group, Siemens, State Grid Corporation of China, Mitsubishi, General Electric International and others
.
It is reported that the total investment of the transmission project reaches 1.
7 billion US dollars, and the planned projects include seven 400 kV and 1750 kVA substations, five 400 kV lines covering 437 km and a 500 kV transmission line
up to 1,221 km.
The project is scheduled to be commissioned in December 2021 with a transmission capacity of 3,000MW.
Mexico's national electricity company CFE said the deadline for bidding was June this year, and the results
of the tender were scheduled to be announced in July.
According to the Mexican Ministry of Energy's plan for the expansion and modernization of the national grid, 410 transmission projects will be deployed and implemented in Mexico between 2017 and 2029, with a total of 23,773 kilometers
of transmission lines built.
