Sri Lanka's "Daily Mirror" reported on March 18 that the Trade and Investment Policy Department of the Ministry of Finance of Sri Lanka issued an announcement that from March 10 in the next 6 months, special commodity taxes on 9 imported foods will be raised, including imported yogurt and butter.
A special commodity tax of 1000 rupees per kilo, cheese 400 rupees per kilo, apples, grapes, oranges, dates and other fruits of 200-400 rupees per kilo is levied
