In 2019, the Spanish wind power industry has developed rapidly, and as of November 30, the installed capacity of new wind power reached 1634 MW, and the cumulative installed wind power capacity in China has reached 25,223.
5 MW, exceeding the 25 GW mark
.
Meanwhile, wind installations in Spain will rise further in December, with new installations
expected by the end of 2019.
Due to high wind power generation, in November 2019, the country generated 7,396 GWh of electricity nationwide, the second highest on record this month since 2005, after March 2018 (7,726 GWh).
As of today, 53,730 GWh of wind power generation has been accumulated in 2019 (up 9.
5% from last year), so it is expected to exceed 54 TWh by the end of the year, the best level on record after 2013
.
As with the important milestone for 2019, wind energy reached 48.
4% of daily energy demand on December 13 and 33%
in November.
In the peninsula, demand for wind energy will reach 21.
5% (second generation technology after nuclear power) and 20.
8%
nationwide.
In the Canary Islands, thanks to new wind farms installed in 2017 and 2018, wind power generation tripled compared to 2017, increasing demand coverage from 4.
4% in that year to 13% in 2019, thus allowing further savings for all electricity consumers and a significant reduction in CO2 emissions
from the islands.
Not only that, but the increase in wind power has also had a positive impact
on electricity prices.
The average price in November was 42.
19 euros/MWh, which is 32%
lower than the price in November 2018.
In December, this downward trend continued, mainly thanks to the high political climate, with an average price of around 33.
71 euros / MWh to date, something that would have been unimaginable just a few months ago
