South Korean cable manufacturer LS Cable said today that it has received an order for an ultra-high-voltage submarine cable worth $36 million from Malaysia's state-owned power company TNB to lay a submarine cable system
connecting Perlis in northern Malaysia with Langkawi Island.
According to reports, the submarine cable is 28 kilometers long and is expected to be laid in September next year
.
The project will double Langkawi's electricity supply to meet the growing demand
for electricity.
LS Cable also revealed that this ultra-high voltage cable order is very meaningful and is a major performance
of LS Cable's expansion of Southeast Asia business.
