South Korea will reportedly build the world's largest floating solar farm on top of an artificial lake on the west coast to get electricity
from clean energy.
Korea Western Electric Power Company, a state-run utility, has reportedly signed a memorandum of understanding with the city of Ansan to build a floating solar farm
at Sehwa Lake, 42 kilometers south of Seoul, by 2020.
It is understood that the project capacity is 102.
5 MW, and after the completion of the solar power generation facility, it will provide enough renewable energy
for about 35,000 households every year.
The project also involves a regional energy cooperative that aims to share the profits
from electricity sales with local communities.
