Over the next decade, South Asia and the Pacific will receive $80 billion in climate finance

The Asian Development Bank will provide funding under its new Strategy 2030 to help combat the catastrophic effects
of climate change.
South Asia and the Pacific will receive $80 billion in ADB climate finance
If mitigation and adaptation efforts are not implemented quickly and robustly, countries in Asia and the Pacific are at greater risk
of falling deeper into poverty and disaster, the ADB said.
In line with its new strategy, ADB will prioritize supporting the poorest and most vulnerable countries
in the region.
It aims to ensure that by 2030, 75% of its committed business volume supports climate change
mitigation and adaptation.
Takehiko Nakao, President of ADB, said: "The Asia-Pacific region has made great strides in poverty reduction and economic growth over the past half century, but there is still an unfinished development agenda

In line with Strategy 2030, we will combine finance, knowledge and partnerships to sustain efforts to end extreme poverty and expand our vision to a prosperous, inclusive, resilient and sustainable region
