Recently, South Africa announced that it will build two new wind farms
in the Western Cape.
Global renewable energy company Enel Green Power has awarded Vestas its largest wind turbine order
.
According to ESI Africa, the 147MW project that will launch the V136-4.
2MW in South Africa will also be on display on the continent with the largest rotor diameter
in Vestas.
The Danish company has allocated two sites in the Western Cape to develop new wind farms
.
It is understood that these projects will add 294 megawatts of power to the grid, and actual construction
is expected in the second half of 2020.
The wind farm will be equipped with 70 turbines with a hub height of 82 meters
.
According to the president of Vestas Northern and Central Europe, the location chosen in the Western Cape is the best option
for the production of clean wind energy.
It was revealed that these wind farm projects are expected to start operating
in 2022.
