Solvay signs agreement with Baker Hughes

On November 6, Solvay announced that it had signed a partnership agreement with Baker Hughes to explore innovative solutions for the use of thermoplastic composites in offshore oil and gas pipelines and upgrade pipes for the oil and gas indust.

“It has been an honor to work with one of the world’s leading energy technology compani.

"We believe this partnership with Solvay will accelerate the introduction of non-metallic materials in the energy industry as we increasingly focus on reducing costs and improving efficiency," said Andrea Fibbi, Baker Hughes oilfield equipment technology executi.

Thermoplastic composite tubing is flexible and much lighter than traditional equipment, making installation and connection of new equipment faster and more cost-effecti.
